"The whole process has really helped us focus our business plan properly to go after equity funding and the 100,000 will be a huge benefit to accelerate our development. Winning the Seedcorn competition has given us a tremendous boost at a critical time and it will help to get us in front of potential investors. The competition has allowed EnBIO to clinically focus on its business proposition to generate a business plan and its enormous appeal to investors and ultimate end customers."
One of Irelands top entrepreneurs, Padraig O'Ceidigh of Aer Arann addressed the finalists in the award ceremony held in the Great Hall at Queens University last night.
"This is a tremendously effective competition because it stimulates the right kind of thinking and approach to developing a successful business. The prize fund is a welcome boost but all of the previous winners have been very clear that the advice, guidance and the networking opportunities have been the most valuable part of the experience. In that respect everyone who gets involved is effectively a winner and I congratulate InterTradeIreland on its innovative approach to stimulating this kind of success."
"Congratulations to EnBIO, they are a most deserving overall winner and have really demonstrated that they can compete with the best in Ireland," explained Liam Nellis, Chief Executive of InterTradeIreland. "This year we had over 400 expressions of interest and 143 business plans submitted, 22 shortlisted companies and 8 regional winners.
