Irish Medical Firm is awarded FUSION grant

Cork, Ireland- September 10th , 2007: EnBIO Ltd, today announced it was awarded a grant worth in excess €80K via the Intertrade Ireland Fusion programme

FUSION is InterTradeIreland's all-island technology transfer initiative that gives companies access to the wealth of expertise and facilities in universities and colleges across the island of Ireland, allowing them to make strategic advances in innovation and capability.

EnBIO plans to use the programme to hire a biologist who will lead the company’s intensive R&D programme currently underway in the University of Ulster’s  Nanotechnology and Integrated BioEngineering Centre.

EnBIO Ltd, develop leading edge surface modication technologies that enables drug eluting properties to metallic surfaces across a multitude of medical sectors.

Commenting on the award  Vincent Grady EnBIO Financial Controller said  “ The Fusion programme will allow EnBIO expedite the commercialisation of its Frontier™ Technology through co-funding the hiring if a key biologist . The programme will also enable the company future organisation growth plan by financing the completion of management diploma in the Smurfit business school by the newly hired biologist”

EnBIO’s products are based on patent pending surface modification techniques which can be applied to variety of surfaces widely used in medical devices but also in the aeronautical, electronic and food industries.
