About EnBio

EnBio’s fundamental focus is the development and commercialisation of its patented surface enhancing technologies – providing implementable solutions to meet the increasingly complex challenges of the high-performance coatings industry.

EnBio is a privately held company, based in Dublin, Ireland.

EnBio holds a suite of enabling surface modification technologies. EnBio’s patented core technology, called CoBlast, was invented by its CTO and Founder (John O’Donoghue) in 2005.

EnBio was incorporated in 2006 and won the Seedcorn High-Tech Start-Up Competition, Ireland in the same year. €5m in funding has been raised to date, which is inclusive of a recent investment made by the Nordson Corporation.

Resulting from a number of successful industrial collaborations in 2011, EnBio is expanding its commercialisation focus of CoBlast beyond its pedigree in medical implant bioceramic surfaces. EnBio’s vision for CoBlast is to develop it as a core industrial surface preparation and surface enhancement process across multiple industry sectors.
