The fundamental core of the CoBlast™ technology is its ability to modify the surface of active metals such as Ti, Al, Stainless Steel, etc by applying dopants to the surface which are inherently difficult to apply.

The applications for such a fundamental technology are not limited to medical implants. The following are some examples.

Ceramic Thermal Coatings for Turbine Blades (including aerospace)

Turbine Blades

The CoBlast™ technology enables a new method of applying Thermal Barrier Coatings (TBC) and Abrasion Resistant Coatings (ARC) to turbine blades (including aerospace) in way that they do not delaminate thereby reducing maintenance costs and potentially enabling the engines to run at higher temperatures. Anti Fouling Coatings

EnBIO believes that is CoBlast™ process will offer a new method of applying anti-fouling surfaces to solve this huge problem. Most of the sub-aqua structures (especially newer ones) which suffer from fouling are made of titanium - making them ideal for coating with CoBlast™.

Titanium Coloring

EnBIO believes that the CoBlast™ process could be used to impregnate the surface of the titanium skin with paint pigment powder - thereby eliminating the need for the extra weight of any chemicals normally in found in paint and reducing the quantity, and hence the weight, of the paint pigment required to obtain the desired colour.
